hirez: More graf. Same place as the other one. (Happy cycling)
It appears that an ideal method for calming me the fuck down is to go out and ride a bike for an hour. For the first time in six months.

We'll see if the usual post-effort horrorshow arrives tomorrow, I guess.

Things found while having a small tidy-up in the garden:

(Yes, the obdurate strawberry patch is still emitting tiny fruit. I shall surprise it while it hibernates and transplant it somewhere less nasty. Not sure where, mind. Perhaps I shall grub up one of the big bastard ferns.)

English people: stop trying to perform high-fives. You all look ridiculous when you either miss, or have to wait around with arm poised because your 'fiving partner' hasn't realised what's going on.

Those of you who've braved the M25 forcefield will know that most of the flooring at Squalid Acres is nasty brown crapet. The hall needs sorting out properly, and it seems to me that the only vaguely sensible answer is some flavour of not-crapet.

I think sanding back to the bare boards is out since that'll echo like hell. I'm personally un-keen on laminate because it's going to have to butt up against real floorboards at the door to the front room, and that'll look odd. There's vinyl off a roll like we've got in the decontamination suite, vinyl tiles or Proper Lino.

The tiles and the lino are about the same sort of money, and while the patterns from the mad and tread-plate end of the big book of vinyl tiles are very tempting, the lino is winning.

Unless anyone else has a better idea.

If my posts are echoing, it's because they're coming from a stupidly large HD that I'll never manage to fill. Not unlike the previous two stupidly large HDs that I was never going to fill. Until I did. This one's five times the size of the previous example and I think was twenty quid less. Mad. Of course I had to change the m/b at the same time, which is nice in a kind of much quieter and at least four times the horsepower of t'other way.

Windows RAID is a bit shonky, isn't it?

(Wasn't that an Electro-Hippies track? Or was it Extreme Noise Terror? The !Peel programme on Dandelion Radio reminded me about Hagar the Womb and it's all gone a bit shouty.)

As a slow art project, I have been re-creating parts of 'The Young Ones' as time and energy permit. In the past, we've had bands in the front room and drunk people running amok with chainsaws, more or less at the same time.

Today represents a new and exciting departure for the project; this morning men pitched up early to throw the toilet out of the window.

How many calories are there in mucous? I think I'm getting fat on a non-stop diet of the stuff.

Lordy. A self-fuelling reaction. That's really quite wrong.

There was a word we used @ Another, usually on the morning after adjourning to the pub opposite for jugs of vodka/redbull, and it was rancid.

Dear me, but I feel rancid today. I can breathe, sweat, shiver, expectorate and think, but only one at a time. I'm told I managed sweating and shivering last night, but I was periodically unconscious and running on non-EU certified patent medicine.

I don't remember the last time I felt this rubbish where beer hadn't been involved.

On the other hand, I've caught up on my asynchronous telly viewing (Several episodes of 'It's not easy being green'. I can't say I'm sure about the wisdom in buying a F-plate diesel 90, but there we are. The rest of it is fine stuff.)

There was something else, but I forget what. Probably mithering about going to Whitby and only buying clothing from the Tog24 shop.
