I was dead keen on going back when I was with theladyeve, who was a regular, but I can't afford the hike up there for the hell of it. Besides, it's ccomley@cix's do this weekend. With swimming pool.

In the not too distant past, one was as likely to meet the London (travelling/net)-g*th contingent in the bar of the Nelson Mandela Building or outside the Elsinoire as one was to see them slumped in a corner at Slime.
I suspect the tail-end of the band-following/traveller mindset met the start of the net-thingy and briefly worked rather well.
Then the shininess of your New Rocks (The appearance of those things might be the point for which there's a before and an after) became a more powerful totem.
I have in the past been quite happy to traipse up and down the country to attend parties at mate's houses. I would already be doing so this summer, but for the fact that I have no working bloody motorbike. Nor do I have a car, but that's all right 'cos I can't drive and don't like them. I am less inclined to go off on such jaunts by train 'cos it costs so much and is so much less enjoyable.
But I've never really done it for clubs and that sort of thing. Perhaps this is my loss. If I had a bike (or reasonable amounts of spare cash, also regrettably absent from my life at the moment) and I was not otherwise committed, I might be tempted. I've read of 'fink, I talked to Nadin when she was at it, and I do know a few folk up there, so I'd quite like to try it sometime. However...
Feel free to call me a wuss, indolent little gobshite(1), lackadaisical bastard(2) or anything else you like. It is, I am sure, richly deserved.

How come yuo can trek up there but never come out in Bristol. Does sound fun mind, cept I'm saving my precious leave for hopefully travel to Canada in Sept.
Well we've been clubbing maybe half-a-dozen times in London in the six years I've lived here so perhaps it's just typical of a certain netgoth vintage?
Umm. It is. But that's OK. Thanks for the wishes. :)
The post (as far as anyone can interpret JHR's posts) was about all three events. I was just disappointed that the one I was most likely to be able to attend (being that it's just down the street from me) will be lacking my presence. Sorry for the lack of clarity. :)
