The music for that effing Becks advert with the blokes is stuck in my head. It sounds like someone trying to be Wire.

I'll bet it tastes as repulsive as normal Becks, too. How do the industrial brewers manage to make all the lager you can find in this country so horrible? They must try really hard to find extra tat to shovel in so as to ensure a righteous hangover.

I mean, if I want a startlingly bad head and a worse arse, I'll go and find a Donnington pub rather than some trendy-yop bar.

I had that stuck in my head too for ages the first time those adverts were around. Imagine my dismay when they came back and I started humming it again!

At least neither of us have spontaneously been breaking into the accompanying dance...

Well, now that you come to mention it...

Seek help. Now.

BTW: the message does seem to be "Drink Becks, dance like a twat". Well, you can't fault their accuracy.

Because I'll need three other people to get it right?

Capital idea.

It's the Flaming Lips, apparently.

[FX: Google. Followed by Youtube, as is the nature of this modern internet experience.]

Well, there you go.

I must admit that despite the chunterings of the Guardian (My age group's NME, apparently) I still don't care for the Flaming Lips.

For the last decade they've been increasingly whimsical gods of prog-pop, and therefore gradually been moving out of my comfort zone, but I still really like the stuff they did earlier.

I've always hated them, ever since I first heard them on XFM several years ago. But they've made something catchy! I guess everyone has their time - I mean, these days, they let me DJ in actual clubs and everything ;)

Water. Interbew's big place at Luton where they make Stella, Becks, Fosters, you name it - doesn't quite have the same water as native breweries. At least that's the only reason I can think. I think you're not alone as the taste must be the reason it all has to be served at 1 degree above freezing. Doesn't a good lager or blonde beer have to be served between 8 and 10 degrees?

Pass. I note that even when warm, furrin high-street lager like Amstel or Bavaria isn't as repulsive as a cold Fosters.
