I quote: ... when perhaps an Introverts' Rights movement has blossomed and borne fruit, it will not be impolite to say "I'm an introvert. You are a wonderful person and I like you. But now please shush." This.
that's fantastic - and being able to say that to people would make my life a million times easier and i wouldn't feel so rude running away from people in clubs all the time, pretending i have to go to the loo or find someone!
Y'know, I do that a lot. Not because I'm doing my best to get away from tedious people, but because that conversation has run its course and now would be a good time to regroup. (Or, if Whitby, go and hide somewhere quiet for a while so I can hear myself think)
yes - except my conversations usually end up just being:
them: hi zazz! me: hiya them: how are you? me: um, okay. you? them: yeah fine ::pause:: me: okay, nice seeing you, i have to [insert excuse here].
then i make a quick exit and feel bad for appearing to be antisocial, and have to deal with people coming up to me saying, 'so and so thinks you're ignoring them'.
i wish i could just set myself to /away irl, and be done with it.
