I quote: ... when perhaps an Introverts' Rights movement has blossomed and borne fruit, it will not be impolite to say "I'm an introvert. You are a wonderful person and I like you. But now please shush." This.

You know that 'Being John Malkovitch' film? Well, we weren't going to tell you, but...

Hmm .. an "Introverts' Rights Movement" ... would there be, like, a lot of people in the organization? If so, I'm not sure I could deal with joining. ;) Great link, I identified with all of it (I'm INTJ).

Great. Now I seem to be an awkward mixture of the two. Perhaps beer is the answer.

Amen to that. Particularly to not asking whether people are all right.

I do often feel as if I've spent my entire life saying quite kindly to people "Your behaviour would only make sense in some cracked universe where it's true that any kind of human company is better than none. Run Along Now."

i can relate to that - just because i'm not babbling about something non-consequential doesn't mean i'm not perfectly happy in my own little world in my head. i wish other people would understand that.

that's fantastic - and being able to say that to people would make my life a million times easier and i wouldn't feel so rude running away from people in clubs all the time, pretending i have to go to the loo or find someone!

Y'know, I do that a lot. Not because I'm doing my best to get away from tedious people, but because that conversation has run its course and now would be a good time to regroup. (Or, if Whitby, go and hide somewhere quiet for a while so I can hear myself think)

yes - except my conversations usually end up just being:

them: hi zazz!
me: hiya
them: how are you?
me: um, okay. you?
them: yeah fine
::pause::
me: okay, nice seeing you, i have to [insert excuse here].

then i make a quick exit and feel bad for appearing to be antisocial, and have to deal with people coming up to me saying, 'so and so thinks you're ignoring them'.

i wish i could just set myself to /away irl, and be done with it.
