At the weekend I bought a book called 'Industrial Behaviour' because I thought it might help me know what to say when I meet k00l INDUSTRAIL(tm) ch1xx0rs.

Instead, I'm finding out about Taylorism and why it is Wrong.

Good lord, Haven't heard of Taylorism since I did O level commerce... "Good if you happen to be a robot" Was the take home message IIRC.

What's up with your wireless? Long wave reception on the blink, or is it more of a 802 problem?

Rambling elsewhere. It was going through my head in the manner of 'cornflakes cornflakes cornflakes etc'

Which can only mean I'm old and the telly's been rubbish since 1983.

Glad to be of service.

Mind, I can't remember which track that comes from, which means I'm going to have to listen to all of them.

(Hey, any chance of 'Hard Left' next Friday?)

I wish but it's only Batfink for the first hour so I'm sharing DJ duties with Kate Karnage. It is likely to be a brief snippet of normal Fink and I'm incredibly nervous about handing my club over for the rest of the night already!

Fair enough. I'm not the sort to demand to hear particular things - I can stop home, play my own records and thus save bus-fare and a deafening by some cloth-eared nonce who likes to see the pretty red lights on the DJ console.

(Before some rotter charges off to Google for the record-suggesting posts I may (or may not) have made in the past, if they don't all contain the caveat "Not that I'd expect those to be played outside of some avant-garde/Peelite clubnight that specialised in trying to clear the floor, willful disregard for commonly understood genre boundaries (ie - it's ok to play crap techno at g*th nites because that confirms the majority opinion that 'this modern technological music's rubbish there's not a tune you can whistle and the singers all look like girls', but play good techno and you've a mini-riot on your hands as the punters realise that EDM's pitiful and the cognitive dissonance leads to shouting and throwing things) or the encouragement of ankle-damage through careless dancing to music of unlikely time signature." then they damn well should.)

It'll be fine, I'm sure. I don't believe that any of the guest DJs will have a sudden fit at the controls and deign to play nothing but sandpaper, 12" Black Lace dub mixes and obscure Butthole Surfers B-sides. And even if they did, I'm sure that entertainment could be had by shying fruit at the blighters.

I'm sorry. I appear to have been overcome by coffee and good fellowship.

The Russian one's as expected, but the Japanese one is more than a little odd.

I wish I still had the link to the site with the exploration of the Japanese coal island. Madder than a mad thing.

http://www14.big.or.jp/~kawamura/m-city/english_photo_gallery.html perhaps?

I loved the iron forts you mentioned a while back, but already I've forgotten what they were called. I just cannot retain information these days. =:-/

That's the place.

There's another set of photos that show the place populated. I was instantly reminded of 'Dark City'.
