Failing to be grim up north

Went to York for A SF(F) Convention. Had a surprisingly good time. Drank ale, talked rubbish, accidentally books. Also shot mouth off about writing, which will no doubt serve me right in due course.

The one Fantasycon I went to was really good fun. Kind of wishing I'd gone, but in light of other stuff that's come up, glad I didn't spend the money.

Yarp. I think I had fun because the weather was mostly ok and there was York and a railway museum (and indeed a splendid real ale pub in the station concourse) so I could just go escape when it all got a bit too Fandom. It really doesn't hurt that I'd cheerfully live in that York anyway.
