I'm not quite sure. It was pretty much a snapshot of what I was listening to in 1989 - old skool hip-hop, hardcore, punk and post-punk leavened with proto-techno, shiny pop and the Joe90 theme.

I'm slightly horrified that I'm still listening to pretty much the same sort of stuff - I don't think my own musical progress stopped in its tracks in the early 90s, but I worry that if it did, I might as well don the tradg*th hat of sad old bastardry right now.

On the other hand, I'm always surprised when other people like the same random stuff that I do.

I think I posted it because I couldn't quite see the sense in telling the world which records I own (one, because The Doors are quite splendid) from a set voted 'worst of all time'. I mean, what's that going to prove? A shite taste in music? A handy list of people who I must never visit because they might play some music?

Hm. I wonder if I've now got enough of it on MP3 to make up a mix CD?

Add N to (X) are dead good. As are Ladytron and Manitoba and Squarepusher and the Moog Cookbook.

This shows why/where some of the songs (at least 5) I used to play at 80's night at Laughtons came from. Making my husband happy seemed to please many others there.
