(fucking) Migraine
Jan. 29th, 2013 08:54 pm[ I am logging these with at least one specific tag. At least I think I am. Given the state of my brain, it's hard to tell. Thus you are not expected to respond. Although it is jolly nice when people do. ]
Anyway. Woken at 4am from the folded position by my brain exploding. Which was a bit bleedin' previous.
I think I'm back to what-passes-for-normal now. In that it seems to be the C21st and I'm looking forward to watching Meades on the tellybox, rather than staring balefully at things and wondering about a casual vomit. Well, I say 'staring'. I mean 'not using my eyes too hard because their interface to my brain has basically stopped producing useful output.'
(Note for future self which I will ignore/misplace when this happens again: Give up. Go outside and carelessly observe things in the middle distance. Go for a walk and view the things around you, not allowing your head to remain in any one position for too long.)
On the other hand, I have just found a Stylophone (very old) and a DR-110 (less old).

Date: 2013-01-29 09:58 pm (UTC)My current anecdote on migraine joy, VitD levels seem to have some relation. Lower incidence (n>0) while supplementing to get blood levels. Typically would have had at least 8-10 in the past 2 months, down to one for past 60 days.
Hope the recovery is going well. And yay that you've managed some level of productive within the day. Noise-making joy with the purchases!

Date: 2013-01-29 11:06 pm (UTC)Hm. You're the second person in a week to mention supplemental vitamin D. I think that's a sign.
When I say 'found' I mean 'I tidied the computer room, unearthed a box, and there was kit I'd not seen since moving in.' Which, um, yes.

Date: 2013-01-30 12:55 pm (UTC)It's mostly fucked-up neck (which had been massaged this very AM) and old glasses prescription (about to be sorted). And me forgetting to stop and look at far-away things.

Date: 2013-01-30 01:24 am (UTC)The anti-epileptic the neurologist put me on (lamotrigine) for the most part controls it; I was seizure - (and therefore migraine-) free for 6 months, though I had 2 last week - I suspect stress is a major factor there. (Not to mention hormonal upheaval after the miscarriage.)
It's been a vast improvement over the August a couple of years back which was just one long migraine.
I do find vitamin D levels affect things too, but then neurochemistry is such a complex thing and the more we learn about it the more we realise how mysterious it all really is and we actually know very little.
