Before: a pile of cheap bits.

After: assemblage of cheap bits. Arduino Uno - model's own.

Hand-assembled Adafruit motor-control board. Appears to pass the smoke-test and drive a servo.

This modern safety-solder doesn't 'wet' right, does it? I'm hoping that the rough-looking joints are JPEG artifacts.

Why use modern solder? If you aren't needing to sell it (or lick it) afterwards, then use the good stuff.

Go to the shop and buy some, then you'll have some.

Despite the usual ignorant witterings, there's plenty of lead/tin solder still being made and sold. There is no ban on it. CPC have it for starters.

Ta. The rest of the Indigo2 is under the bench, waiting for me to turn it into a hackintosh.
