I can barely articulate just how fucked up I find this. Seriously. It gives me The Fear to even look at the bloody pictures. Wrong, wrong, wrong. With a side order of get the buggery away from me. (Via BoingBoing)

Fanfic fights back. I say we nuke the bastards from low earth orbit.

(I seem to be in a strangely bloody-minded mood. It will pass, no doubt.)

Haha. That's really not a million miles away from how my parents house looks. The guilty party there is my dad This is why I never moved back home after university.

that house is so disturbing. i feel somewhat normal in comparison!!!

that's a good site though, really freaky people. i love the mail paranoia bit about someone stealing her identity!!!!

..well, obviously it's mental illness but keeping the old pill bottles when all you need is a black board marker to cross the names out....

Unfortunately I've experienced worse. About the same amount of stuff - possibly more - and at least in those photographs everything is tidy and not strewn all over the place and piled at random. Never mind the cats.

There are degrees of everything. While I'm not the world's tidiest person, and would likely fill my living-space with random computers and interesting bits of machinery given half a chance, I'd be a lying bastard and storing up trouble for later if I didn't say "No, I'm not prepared to put up with that."

It's one of those irregular verbs: I have a lot of things, you are a victim of clutter, they are nutjob hoarders.

It's a recognised psychological disorder, though of course people can have it to varying degrees. It's when they start keeping piss in bottles and crap in the fridge that you really need to start worrying!

Thank you. One tries.

Will this punch/reader explode in flames like the last one?

I hope you're not implying anything.

I thought my mother never threw out anything, but she is a zen minimalist compared to that!

Ye gods, that's a lot of shit. The woman clearly needs help, and bad cess on the son for not trying to get her some. Unless he has, in which case I shall STFU.

I'm not registered on Somethingawful or some such crap

I don't wanna be registered! ... You want me to see something, guys ... you got something to show me ... then show it to me!

But I gather it's some kind of analogue to the house I once had the misfortune to live in ... I'd tell you about it, but you'd never believe me

On the issue of hoarding, I remember reading about a woman who had a tin with a label on it: Bits of string too small to be of any use

I'm not registered with S-A either, but the mongo pile of pictures still loads cheerfully enough.

[ The only way they'd get me to register would be to allow me to plasma-cut apart the machine with the poorly-doctored picture of JH-R+chums and shove each red-hot chunk up the arse of the sub-b3ta jallopmonkey with the 'l33t p0tat0sh0p sk1llz0r'. ]

It's pretty much as you'd expect, mind.

I'm not a great fan of having lots of things. They anchor a chap to his past, which is generally a bad idea.

Hm. Some Thinking Required.

I know what you mean

I've got way too much junk ... and I've actually been pretty discriminnatory over the years ...

Records/CDs/Tapes/Books/Magazines/Videos/DVDs make up the bulk of my collection ... but I've got an awful lot of tech equipment

But I do still seem to have picked up a lot of junk over the years ... Gonna have to get rid of it ... Even with the little I've got, I've still got too much!
