This would be the mumbleth time that I've had to do battle with someone's XML-RPC library and it is still a hateful experience.

There's a longer ramble about anti-foot-shooting security measures that one has to turn off in order to get the blasted code to build at all are worse than useless. 'The code has built-in security' they might say, somewhat smugly. Which won't stop active muppetry from leaving wide open badgers.

See also SELinux and register_globals. The Unix-prodders don't get it right either.

(Yes I am probably advocating K&R C, everyone driving about in rusty (Austin) Minis and forcing children to play outside, nasty reactionary bastard that I am)

There are reasons why Scala, Python and $FAVOURITE_THING_THIS_WEEK have their advantages.

Also why XML-RPC? Isn't LJ just boggo REST HTTP, rather than the evil spawn of Wavey Davey?

I haven't looked to see if there are more recent interfaces, but the one this code uses is much the same XML-RPC as the blogger API.

A bit immaterial anyway b/c I've been blocked for the rest of the day for one too many tries at the server.

Ugh.

You always wanted to be 3l33t Ru5514n H4xx0r and now LJ thinks you are one!

Maybe you shouldn't have posted test data that made you sound quite so much like a Putin fanboi
