Live and direct from the 'Stuff I should be doing' dept: Robots. (Annoying bloody frameshite. Find the 'robots' button/link.) The device named 'Godfella' is especially fine.

Finally, a survey/test with some minor psychological and statistical correctness. Are you an authoritarian?

(Note that I reserve the right to kick people off my friends-list if they report high scores.)

(Though of course I'm probably joking.)

(Or am I?)

(Not that it should matter to anyone.)

(Paranoid yet?)

[ Exile's Excerpt ]

I found myself driving through Hendon (came down the A1 to avoid ver norf circlar) and musing quietly upon Betjeman and Metroland, as one does when in that neck of the woods. (Earlier, I'd nearly decided to beetle off in the other direction and seek out Verney Junction when passing signs for Aylesbury and Amersham. Next time. Yes.)

Then I looked harder at the rows of tired thirties mock-tudor gone mottled with grime and age (Driving up through the back of Golder's Green is handy for that sort of thing) and thought harder: "Y'know. I don't miss any of this at all..."

Still, I go see A Woman about the state of my head tomorrow, so I may well get some extra choice back, other than 'terror' or 'not terror'...

[ Ha! More tradg*th windup material ]

One for the 'All electronic music is techno' mob: Does this sound like techno, you tone-deaf bastards? I think not.

The Smiths/Love Spit Love meet creative people with axes to grind. Very fine indeed.

Wow -- that J D Robb music is awesome. It sounds like sections of Alec Empire's "Intelligence and Sacrifice". I went and googled for him 'coz I suspected you were just making it up.

I presume you've seen http://www.dictionaraoke.org/ which is a whole collection of the same sort of thing as the Smith's song but without the paraphrase (though some of their collection seems to be bust at the moment).

Fuck. My ears are bleeding.

It's going to take HOURS of G'n'R and ZZ Top to recalibrate my auditory centres to normal now.

You BASTARD.

Is that the Alec Empire that's got actual songs in, rather his usual filthy racket? (I know I'm supposed to rate ATR as being 'hard' and 'transgressive' because Seething Wells goes on about them and Peelie play[ed|s] them lots, but it's always struck me as complete bollocks...

Hm. I see another post steaming over the horizon. Noisy bugger that I am.

*laugh* Well, I'm rather fond of Mr. Empires tunes. I like the solo stuff better than ATR. No idea what Seething Wells might be and I only encouter Peelie on R4 and his gentle music for nice people show on the World Service.
