Bothered the estimable [livejournal.com profile] jarkman with these.

Result: much better than we expected.

Oh super. Weapons grade tiffin tins.

Absolutely. Or 'snap tins' if you're from the North where it is Grim.

I'd forgotten how much I like the look of a galvanized finish. It reminds me of being small in the same way that the smell of Landie transfer box does.

Actually, not at all. It's a CD box (http://www.libeljournal.com/album/phonepix/random/cdbox.jpg) that you can run over with a bus. Yes.

My word! That was lucky, given that the height was picked by grabbing the first chipboard offcut that looked remotely plausible. The gods of Contiboard are clearly on our side.

There's a certain amount of lean required to get the lid on... But then if you filled the thing with CDs, it would need wheels and its own power-unit.

They're exquisite.

Don't suppose any are 19" rack size are they?

I don't think so.

Though there must be ex-mil rackmounting kit. Ideal for PA gear that you can push out the back of a Hercules on a pallet... The band could lob a couple of smoke-grenades into the venue and pile onstage wearing black coveralls...

... No bugger would know the difference, would they?

Doubt it. Judder currently has the 'disperse or we use tear smoke' banners and gas-demons on permanent display...
