Ugh. Nurofen-plus bad for brain, but shagged-up neck worse. I can barely string thoughts together, therefore.

I now have a(n) XML-RPC session between a client and MovableType pulled off the wire by the reasonable splendid Ethereral. I wish I'd never looked, frankly. It's an ugly, crawling thing and I shall use the kXML-RPC library so I don't have to touch any of its Winery foulness.

The perl brokenness was down to the poorly-documented wrapper round XMLRPC::SomethingOrOther not being able to cope with a proxy. Once installed on the nasty old box @ home, it went like a train. As you can see from http://www.libeljournal.com/

It would appear that the metaweblog.Upload call/method/watchamacallit may return a URL. Which is nice of it. And kXML contains byte-array<->base64 translation routines/classes/coalsheds, which is equally nice.

I'm already tempted, but I have Family Business (avuncular 80th) to attend, so my temptation is unfulfilled. You're goign to have the stern duty to have fun without me.

Sounds like a laugh. I'll have to run it by P, mind.

First couple are Zempt sessions for Ethereal to munch on.

Picture one was an attempt with a 'upload pic, get url, auto-insert url into text, upload weblog entry' sequence, which is probably the Right Thing.

If the twatting perl would give me some blasted idea of the type that routine returns. Not that I particularly care, since it's just a harness to check assumptions and garner some network traffic of a working session. But still...

Seems better. My own fault for falling asleep in the folded position a couple of nights ago after spending several hours squinting at Nokia and Currant-bun .pdfs.

Your posts these days are mostly Welsh, but I still read them for the bits in between.

Hope the neck feels better. Maybe see youse on sundy then?

Shamefully enough, no. I don't have the right sort of arrogance to write long weblog entries.

LJ is having a drunken laugh with yer mates. (Or indeed a drunken strop)
Webloggery is a lot more like sparring with a salonload of Dot Parkers.

Yes, I know I used the 'drunken laugh' thing when describing Usenet. That was before the lager-mob in the bottom bar arrived and started singing rugby songs at top volume.

I find LJ suffices for both.

(I'm not posting much to LJ because I'm either having no life and hence nothing to write, or a life and hence no time to write. I suspect it would be good to set a disciplined schedule. Keep the writing facility exercised, more than comments on others' journals does.)

it's only arrogance if you actually expect people to read it...
