  • Mick Mercer strikes again. This time with a fine (re)appraisal of the semi-legendary Dancing Did. Of course, coming from the Cotswolds, I never quite trusted the gill-people from Evesham, but now I find the continuing record-quest has a few extra targets. And why not?

  • It's the new thing! [/The Fall] Electrolite, among others, is being spammed through the comments section. In some parts of weblog-world, The Sky Is Falling and the Death of the Net is being predicted. In other places, tools are being written. I guess I'm not surprised, but I shall be interested to see what people do about these attacks. I wonder if it's time to turn off anonymous posting here?

  • Earth Loop Recall have a couple of MP3s available on their website, and very fine things they are too. Actually, they're better than that. 'Fucking splendid' are two words that one could use. One track reminds me of 'Album'-era PiL played by someone more interested in poking the uneasy spirit of Dave Gilmour with a sharp stick, the other is vaguely like a fucked-off Disco Inferno playing chunky Ruhr-metal covers out of pure spite. Storming stuff and absolutely recommended.

I actually bought that Dancing Did album. Can't recall why. I think I remember what it sounds like.

Don't be too affronted - bastards are even making me wait for my copy.

I've almost worn the grooves off this, er, MP3...

I'm led to believe the tracks on the website have been overhauled since and sound even better. I've also got 2 tracks from the gig they did at the weekend that I've only just found a CD player that can play them, and can report thay sound better still.

Until then, just go see 'em live if you can.

Well, if they'd manage to play outside of London when I've got a working car...

Really? I've CD here somewhere I've had for ages, that I never bothered to listen to. I dunno, just can't seem to get my head around this music thing any more.

Broadway Tower always did look as if it was just itching to be used as promotional Goth photo opportunity, mind.
