The splendid [livejournal.com profile] orogeny, who put up with a nervous and jetlagged stranger on the drive up from Newark to, um, Woods Hole some three year ago, has sold a story to Strange Horizons. It's bloody good stuff. Go read the thing.

Thanks, J!

Hey, I was the nervous babbling one. You came across all calm, cool and collected. And I still feel bad for dumping you in the airport for like... a hundred hours, on the day you flew home.

I think by then I was in the state of tired beyond nerves. By the time Scott (or Mac) handed me a beer I'd been awake for 25 hours and I was running on autopillock.

And that was after the adrenaline rush of finding no room for you, and the office closed.

You really, really deserved that beer.

I'd forgotten that bit.

I think I was just going to pass out on a sofa downstairs, but I managed to wake Dru up instead. Well, I say 'managed'. I mean 'fell against the door'.

Bwah? Hrm? IIRC, I'd just gotten done gibbering at Zak, Sharon and Dave in my jetlagged-to-hell mode myself. I think it amused Zak and Sharon and only mildly terrified (my then interpretation) wholesome Dave.

Mind you, the hair was a bit intimidating. :)
