Jason Plato's Republic
Feb. 21st, 2009 06:10 pmSince it's been really quite pleasant out, I went for a bit of a potter. (After having a good prune of the garden. You can do your own 'Trimming my bush' jokes, I'm sure.)

That really ought to be a naval observatory or a launch complex for rocket clocks...
... So that's what it is. Should your small town be bereft of a clock tower or other ceremonial marker, you may call upon the services of the 17th Strategic Rocket Clock Wing, who have the technology to deliver a large and decorative timepiece anywhere on the planet within 30 minutes. You need never be late or stuck for a meeting-place again.

They've got both types of music in the Kingswood aerial, innum. Can't say I'm too keen on the positioning of the nitrous bottle, mind.

I took this a few weeks ago. You may remember I was banging on about the grim new shopping facility that's being built in Bath, and how any alleged 'Bathness' was papered on over the concrete and steel? Well, there you go. I mean, I'm not expecting the developers to restart work in Box mines so they can build the bloody thing properly, though it would be a nicer universe if they did. But anyone jabbering about how the thing is 'in keeping' with the alleged historic status of the place is having a right old laugh. You'll also note that the historic bits they care about are the ones that look like money. Any of the industrial bits are carefully airbrushed out. Bastards.
The shopping facility is already a dark and forbidding canyon that blots out the light from the surroundings. The bus station, however, appears to be in some debt to the estate of N. Tesla.

Pic 3: Budget. Very, very, budget (or maybe it's supposed to be art).
Three good pics, anyway.

Date: 2009-02-22 05:56 pm (UTC)I suspect any piazza will be both windswept and puke-splattered, yet thronged with confused tourists looking for an actual shop amongst the empty Commerce Opportunity Modules.

Date: 2009-02-22 08:16 pm (UTC)The strangest thing in Bath at the moment (I was briefly there yesterday en-route to somewhere else) is the temporary multi-storey car park. I didn't realise such things existed, and it was just freaky.
