Shiny toy.

Silly sod. (Two thirds of the way down the page.)

In a speculative Google for my old Yamaha AX-300 amplifier, I discover that the street price for the thing is 70 notes. Which I'm sure is what I paid for it more than twenty years ago. Why? Eighties retro?

I'm sure none of you lot want it for even half that, so I can bung it out with a clear conscience.

Good luck and a following wind. I take it that this is a single-day event?

Woot! Are you going for the 102 mile or the 70 mile?

The long one. It goes through all the bits I used to call home.

Nice toy - tempted?
( I like the look of this beastie - Planet X (http://www.planet-x-bikes.com/triathlon/index.php?module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_page&PAGE_id=335)

I'll see your Silly Sod and raise you Slightly Demented (http://www.ironmanuk.com/) ;-)

I hear the TdC is a bit hilly...I heard someone talk about a 25% hill somewhere in the mix :-0

I pick it up tomorrow...

You win. That's serious business. (Triathlon cat R srs, etc)

There's a previous scene report somewhere that describes the pull up through Brockhampton as the killer climb of the day. A very long time ago I used to do that daily on an iron five-speed with two panniers of newspapers, so I'm only slightly terrified.

That Giant is very nice prospect - more or less the same spec as my Felt. The (relatively) low price of the Giant belies the quality of the frame, and that carbon front fork will make all the difference to those little bumps and lumps out on the road.
I guarantee you will make child-like whooping noises when you take it out :-)

Training for the hills is where it's at - handle the hard drags and you can handle anything. Hills are my Nemesis...

Bristol is not short of nasty little climbs... I've just been avoiding them.

Sir was not wrong about the idiot grin and demented giggling on the way back from Bath this even. Good Lord it's quick.
