A noise annoys
Apr. 16th, 2007 03:28 pmThe last time I was 'in tahn ternite', more than one person seemed taken by the (efficient, UV reactive) re-usable earplugs I was wearing and asked me to bag them a pair the next time I ordered some.
As is the way of these things, I remembered to order a box of the things, but have forgotten who wanted a set. So, um, book yours here.
That may or may not sound somewhat un-rock&roll, but think on how often the grim cacophony of the Whitby PA has driven you back into the foyer.
Edit: These, in point of fact.

Date: 2007-04-16 04:35 pm (UTC)If you pop in to any Richer and ask at the counter, they'll give you handfuls and handfuls of tens of bags for free.
They're the squishy yellow and red attenuating ones which are good for clubbing :)

Date: 2007-04-16 10:24 pm (UTC)if they're good for Friday night, then expect me to want to buy loads more off you - I've almost run out of my usual earplugs and am looking for good replacements.
hmm looking at that site maybe we should get the 500 pair wall box for the info desk!

Date: 2007-04-16 11:03 pm (UTC)I have to say these things are pretty damn good. (But then I would, wouldn't I?) I've tried the squidgy things in the past, and they just block everything so the PA goes 'momp momp momp' and you can't hear a word anyone says. With the above jobbies, it's like listening to an only slightly shoddy stereo and you can hear conversations. Of course one's interlocutor can't hear a word, but it's much more pleasant than bellowing in someone's ear.
this is a plan!!!!

ok, we may have to give paddy a cut to ensure he keeps the PA loud enough that we sell loads and doesnt try to undercut us by getting some VAT free pro-earplugs to sell from the sounddesk!!!
;o)

ok, no probs.
do they only keep out volume or gigs, or will they also work for sleeping?
if mostly for decibels, will get foamy ones for possible noise pollution from gulls/neihbours/random goths at night....
