Sin City, right? It's Benny Hill with firearms. There's even a wee bald bloke. I walked off before Yakkety Sax came on.

But you say that like it's a bad thing...

I kinda liked Sin City. It was very Frank Miller, though, which is a bad thing as well as a good one. Nobody's ever going to call it a rounded and balanced film.

Awesome. Time to get out the editing equipment, I think, just to replace the soundtrack :)

Absolutely. Remember to speed the film up a wee bit. Youtube would go for it like a pack of rats.

We gave our copy away. I'm not going into the reasoning on here.

I wasn't enjoying it til the final reel, when i decided i ejoyed it after all, mostly for the rounded plotness, rather than for the misogyny and breasty-dumpling displays.

I'm trying to nail down why it rubbed me up the wrong way. It's not as if I object to filmed violence, since Hardboiled is one of my favourite films. I can't in all good conscience claim that the sight of Rosario Dawson in pervewear offended my feminist principles, either.

It was just a grinding and soul-crushingly awful film.

(On the other hand, while wandering the V&A I recalled that you claimed A-A was a Modernist band some time ago, and it all made sense. Which was nice.)

True. After a while you start wondering about the internal lives of the characters. (Hopelessly broken and the sort of people you'd avoid, I should think.)

I really enjoyed it, mostly because the characters were so clearly hopelessly broken and the sort of people I'd avoid; I love watching movies about those people, so I don't have to hang out with them IRL.
