... Listen to any Silicon Teens?

I was probably being po-faced and long-coated.

I'm going to invent a time-machine, go back to 1977, and have words with myself. Along the lines of 'You already like big gay disco (I feel love) and Kraftwerk, and you'll come to love punk, thunderous dub and this batshit stuff they'll call electrofunk. Just get with the program.

I should also play 'The Hacker' a lot more and a lot louder.

(Sorry. Went for a run, am generally feeling well-disposed to music.)

Wasn't 'A for Andromeda' rather good? I want one of chief-geek's big white jackets.

Evidently, chicken town. Link to: dunno about 'A', but I want a copy of The Andromeda Strain.

The fucking train is fucking late
You fucking wait you fucking wait, etc.

You know, if I had the facility with words, I'd be doing that poetry thing.

WWJCCD?

I bagged the icon image with that lettering in mind. Then I thought that it would be following the herd too much, so I left it.

I'm less convinced. Perhaps that's why.

1977: the cracks had just begun to line the walls (line the walls), jubilee days lost flipping motorbikes over car bonnets.

Takes me back, that does.

Completely forgot that 'A for Andromeda' was on, so will have to torrent it.

As for The Hacker... Something I need to listen to more too. Love the new Miss Kittin 'Bugged Out' dbl CD though :D

Thanks for that, guess I ought to pay more attention to the Radio Times website :D

Wait. Since when was disco gay?

Disco music isn't 'Gay' but it's widely known that the predominantly gay clubs in New York, Chicago & Detroit in the early/mid seventies played the most upfront music and this is where DJs started to experiment with re-editing the tracks to make them longer, adding extra percussion etc. which is where House music came from, so yes House music did indeed evolve from the gay disco scene.

See above. You say that as if it were a bad thing.

I did? I see no negative words in my sentences.

I was rather curious if British disco was different than American disco. It seems that it is not.

If you're into the history of modern dance music (as I am) then I recommend this book (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0752219863/qid=1143567210/sr=8-9/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i9_xgl/026-9521377-6910025) which takes you from '70s Disco all the way to the UK Garage scene. Fascinating stuff. I've read it several times.

I would like to see Miller revive the Silicon Teens and do EBM versions of '80s hits. Just because.
