Post-Peel Peel is the new Peel.
Jan. 2nd, 2006 05:05 pmThe second 'big' gig I remember going along to (as opposed to small ones and ones I don't remember) was Half-man Half-biscuit in Gloucester, ably supported (as they say in the 'zines) by Jeggsy Dodd and the sons of Harry Cross.
You may imagine (or not, if it's the sort of thing well outside your range of experience) the strange kind of retro joy I am experiencing, mixed with a certain sense of disloyalty and the usual older record-geek discomfiture with the fact there's a lot of fine music passing me by, on discovering Jeggsy Dodd all over the Festive Fifty.
This is just marvellous, too.
