hirez: Humppa! (Humppa!)

Here's a random thought, which probably came from listening to Paul Morley talking over the Kylie/New Order thing at the tail of that mongo MP3 I pointed at the other day:

A Kylie-fronted Joy Division cover band. (Well, when I say JD, I mean 'And New Order up until the release of the Murder/Thieves like us 12" on Factory Benelux')

I'd also like to hear Sugababes attempting 'Preposterous Tales' by I, Ludicrous.

Oh, and Swarf having a go at 'The man who's head expanded'.

Votes on who gets to bash on 'Nag nag nag'?

Hm. That's a bit into Jive Bunny territory.

Tony Christie with a JAMC guitar section and a real Korg Mini-pops?

There was a fine video that a chum of Pat's created - Lawrence Welk seeming to play 'Waiting for the man'.

Did you hear the album that 50s/60s crooner P.J. Proby did for Savoy Books/Records a few years back? It was completely fucked up. One of the most twisted and perverse things I've ever heard... I would thoroughly recommend getting a copy if you haven't already.

Franz Ferdinand. Or possibly Franz Ferdinand and the Scissor Sisters. I understand they did double up for a song at one of the summer festivals.

Surely 'I love a man in uniform' would be further up their alley?

I want to hear Teenage Fanclub doing 'Cruiser's Creek', Billy Bragg doing 'What's The Frequency. Kenneth?' and Abba doing 'Disco 2000'.
