hirez: Humppa! (Humppa!)

Go here. Work out when you left school, got kicked out, went off on a gap year or whatever. Then perform some HTML and bore the rest of your not-suffering-enough-you-bastards 'friends list' with your unutterable coolth.

(Well, it's slightly more life-affirming than the dreadful US version.)

This is much better than the dire selection I got when I tried the other one!

The one from my 'O' levels year has only one track I'm not keen on. Scarily I own all 50. I'm only three tracks deficient on my 'A' level list too.

Anoraktastic!

I fear you have divined the entire point of the exercise.

Well, if one's going to be an anorak-pilot, it should be for something worthwhile.

Your year is better than mine. 1989 was a bit... baggy. It did feature Dead Beat Descendant though.

Yebbut... You've got Bob State, Telescope, Pixies...

(And 'Made of stone' is a fine record)

Only a complete nutter would think 'Aha! I shall contrive to leave school now because the Festive 50 is particularly good, as it marks the last year before Smiths dominance. Pity about the lack of Three Johns, though. Mind, that other drum-machine driven Leeds combo have made a good showing. And in later years, when the Internet has become a globe-spanning object for social good, I can appear as some kind of arbiter of indie taste for my peers and abandon the mantle of Ballard-and-JD-obsessive bedroom bound anorak-pilot.'

You appear to be suffering from Cocteau-blindness - take 3 Pandas, a popadum and a peewit and report to nurse Frazer in the morning.

I do, don't I?

I'll admit that I've been listening to a lot of Colourbox (C-C-C-Colourbox. Am I saying it right?) in the last couple of weeks.
