$40 for an old Watney's tin? It's not even a Party Seven. Or bleedin' Red Barrel.

Oh, was the 'pint that thinks it's a quart' Whitbread Trophy?

(No, I don't know where all this is coming from. Either seventies commercial telly was dominated by ale adverts, or those were the only ones that stuck in my head. [ See previous discussion of my dodgy heritage. ] )

Yes, indeed it was.

Vernon (the twatty haircut, not the pools) is surely a re-animated version Ed 'Stewpot' Stewart or possibly the bastard son of the aforementioned and the thick one from 'Man about the House'

Before that it put out the fire. Rugged bloke driving a crawler through a desert, IIRC. In the days when you could drink nasty later and drive agricultural machinery.

Courage AK was 'Proper beer, for proper beer drinkers' (Prototype Tetley Bittermen, apparently)

... "Ed 'Stewpot' Stewart looming over you, face contorted in the throes of sexual ecstacy."

There's something terribly wrong with my head.
(So no change there then)

For those of us who drink mild, a pint still is 2 units :)

Do you remember the miniature pumps that were fitted to the cans? The worked off the shiny green compressed gas bulb thingies - I think we called them 'sparklers'. Great for throwing on the bonfire.

Yes. Actually, let me know if he needs labourers. I fancy working in a brewery. I could organise piss-ups. (or not).

Hm, odd, the "convert $->?" button doesn't have "realistic price" as an option.
