My most recently purchased (ie about a year ago) trouser garments are also gravitating towards being worn in the "Hackney Pants" style at the moment. This is tremendously pleasing (and comical).

It's merely shorthand for the fact that I appear to have dispensed with a useful amount of lard through Manly Pursuits, rather than eating twigs and gravel.

Good, innit? I have taken to wearing my some of my older trousers from time to time just for the sense of achievement they provide.

(Not often and not in public, because they make me look like a weapons-grade spack who can't buy clothes that fit. But y'know, about the house, that sort of thing.)

Indeed. Even if still somewhat too cosy around the waist to be worn in public, being able to do them up at all is very satisfying.

Of course, at the moment I'm at that stage with most of my trousers, hence a lot of casual untucked shirts. But in a few months, hoepfully I'll be able to wear my existing trousers more comfortably!

They're jeans. They shrink. I threw away the Camden-bought proto-YPTs that expanded and made a chap look like Fucko the Clown some years ago.

Mind, there's at least an inch difference in waist sizing between 'boot cut' and 'lardy fit', even though the number's the bloody same.

anyway, jeans *do* stretch once you've worn them a few times, they only shrink when you wash them, and thats mostly only the first time, if theyre not pre-shrunk!
