The vaguely good news is that I've got a copy of the archive directory and I'd set the thing to archive by individual post, so it will be a Simple Matter Of Perl to read in the RSS and emit XMLRPC calls to re-add the entries. Probably.
Indeed. 'rm ../mt-data-backup .' rather than cp. It has to be said it's been A While since I last did anything that brain-dead, though that doesn't really help.
Last night, I was just going to walk away from it and post pictures of kittens instead. However, it's now a data-recovery project and thus worth the mental effort.
