A Part of America therein
Sep. 15th, 2004 07:06 pmBack in the midwest. Ugly cars abound, but there's a place down the road with about a dozen '68 Chargers (+ a Challenger, Chevelle, GTO & Corvette), half of which have been badly painted orange with numbers on the door. However, it's all cosmetic - none of the panels match and all of them have ratty interiors that smell like my grandfather's old Morris Oxfords.
On the other hand, the local grocery shop keeps marmite, jaffa cakes and lucozade.
Now I'm more at home with myself, I'm more at home in other places too.
Charlie Stross is an absolute bastard genius - I read 'Singularity Sky' on the way over and it seriously rocks. NAN-AE/U trolls get a walk-on: much respect.
