... Which leads me to believe that there's nothing so familiar as the inside of one's own record collection. Even if mine does seem to lurch from sixties psychedelia to old-skool hiphop and techno via earnest Peelbands and late seventies heavy metal.
... But soft, what lurching beings have lobbed an empty port bottle through yonder window? Verily 'tis the musical 'eavy mob storming into first and third, separated only by the Highgate gestalt.

Date: 2004-06-26 09:44 pm (UTC)2. (At first I thought, Johnny Cash, but then something inside of me said no.)
3. (Sounds like some techno version of Down In The Park.)
4. (No clue.)
5. (No clue but I like it!)
6. (Sounds like some old Joy Division tune.)
7. (No clue.)
8. (No clue.)
9. (No clue but I like it!)
10. (No clue.)
11. Sounds like some version of L.A. Woman by The Doors that I've not heard.
12. I Want Money - The Flying Lizards (you could not have been conscious in the 80s without hearing this song)
13. Word Up - Cameo (love that song!)
14. (No clue.)
15. (No clue.)
16. Working In A Coal Mine - Devo (I had this on a 45 rpm single!)
17. (No clue.)

Date: 2004-06-27 03:04 am (UTC)5. AC/DC - Whole Lotta Rosie
13. is something I dance to all the time, but I can't hear the words. It's a cover, isn't it? Or it has been famously covered. Aargh.
17. Prince Buster, or whatever the guy's name was???
20. Nirvana - Come as you are - though, interestingly, that's also almost exactly the same bass line as Killing Joke's 'Eighties'.
God, I've done miserably badly at this.

Date: 2004-06-27 03:30 am (UTC)The only one I know for absolute certain is that #17 is "Gangsters" by the Specials.
#20 seems to be a trick question. I'm pretty certain it's "Come As You Are" by Nirvana but then again, it could be interchangeable just as easy with "Eighties" by Killing Joke...
I think #6 is "Interzone" by Joy Division.
#1 is *really* bugging me.
Gosh, I'm really not very good at this.

10. Bugger, ought to know that. Orbital?

Date: 2004-06-28 02:11 pm (UTC)(Incubation was on the 'free' flexi that came with the early copies of the Transmission 12", IIRC. And I think on Substance-JD, the yellow one and Heart & Soul. Nothing like flogging a dead singer is there, Mr Wilson?)
Of course saddo completist JD fanboys will buy them anyway...
