I was fiddling with differing post sizes, given it seems that one (well, I can't) upload anything but FaceTwitter-sized missives from a remote LJ client, which says to me that Path MTU Discovery's b0rked (or there's asymetric routing) and anything > ${packet-size} will be dropped on the floor.
There's probably a tiresomely sexist 'joke' in there somewhere.
