I can't work out if a blanket ban on air travel over the UK is a Wyndham or Ballard trope.

A bit of both, I think.

It was a bit surreal travelling home from work and hearing tannoy announcements about transport disruptions due to volcanic ash!

I am hoping it all blows over, so to speak. I guess I should have considered that trans-Atlantic boat ride after all . . .

Though, if we can at least get over there, I'm all for it continuing so that we cannot leave! The world should have thanks for volcanoes. Where would we be if Indonesia's Tambora volcano did not erupt and force Mary Shelley's Geneva vacation to be indoors where she then became inspired to write "Frankenstein"?

Apparently the contrails are REALLY bad for the environment - to the point where they seriously affect the weather - so as far as I'm concerned, the fuckers should all be grounded indefinitely.
