I have just been in receipt of an email in which I am asked to donate three nicker via Paypal and tag my name to the end of a list, before punting off that same message to all the people I know.

That mechanism should sound familiar, since it's the same pyramid scheme that's been floating round the Internet since the days of Dave Rhodes.

It's a pyramid scheme. If it wasn't already illegal, it's agin PayPal's T&Cs and will get your account yanked.

Last time this happened, the message quite obviously came via the niceboots community, and I'm reasonably sure I asked that my previous communication was forwarded there. However since 'the net has a collective memory of two weeks' (according to alt.folklore.urban, but I can't immediately lay hands on a cite. Oh, the irony.) this one will need crossposting there too.
