This is silly. I've always cared for Stereolab. Somewhere there lurks the Too Pure Peel Session EP (The limited 10", of course) with them and Peej Harvey, and they and Tortoise perpetrated one of the loudest gigs I've been to... But I've never remembered to buy any records when I've had the money and been in the right shop.

Daft. Still, Oscillons... is very good and makes me wonder what I was thinking when I filled my head with that EDM rubbish instead.

I have to admit that I'm looking forward to Friday with a reasonable amount of trepidation. I mean - Mark Stewart and The Maffia. Tack>>head in my area. If it's not an utter stormer, I'll feel let down, but I can't really think along those lines.

Oh. PodCastList:
Stereolab - Superelectric (that Too Pure 10")
Exit - Turn me on dead man (Disco Sucks, Che Trading)
Dome - Plosive pluck (Yclept)
Supersuckers - Creepy jackalope eye (La mano cornuda, Sub Pop)
Ted Chippington - Weirdness oh no (12", Vindaloo records)
Shadowy men on a shadowy planet - Exit from Vince Lombardi high school (Dim the lights chill the ham, Cargo)
Mono Men - Behind bars (Flaming Burnout)
It's anything you want it to be and it's a gas (Smoke machine v2) (Tresor records compilation, NovaMute)
Penguin Cafe Orchestra - Music for a found harmonium (Broadcasting from home)

I blame [livejournal.com profile] lastaii.

... But before all that: Decca Navigator fan-sites.

Anyway. A while ago I went here to look for signs of this. Today we went mob-handed in the footsteps of [livejournal.com profile] lastaii and found the other end. Result! (Even if it was a scary looking edifice that loomed over one in a disturbing manner.)

There are a lot more photographs, but they're in two different cameras and will want sending off to the far away chemist. Though I think I'm inspired to play at darkrooms sooner rather than later. Meanwhile, the Berkeley Arms in Purton is an establishment I wish to visit properly. It features in CAMRA guides, so beards and tankards front and centre!

So. Public information films. It turns out there are two versions of 'Apaches' and the version you saw as an impressionable youth determines if you'm a country bod or a town-type.
