How very useful and clear..
The only question I have is how MS can try and extend and own this process. :-)

I'm not sure. I've watched it in action (and didn't grab any pegs as souvenirs because I'm daft) and I'm not sure how you could extend it. Wipe-clean plastic pegs?

You probably already know:
http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1149.html and http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2549.html
http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc3514.html
and
http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc968.html
But I present them here for those who don't.
I'd not noticed
http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc3251.html
until today but it raised a smile.

No I have got it, the pegs will need a Microsoft Holigram, incase anyone tries to introduce extra pegs.

I fear I used RFC1149 in conversation with a software architect at the dotcom-before-last. Most entertaining.
